1858 PART WRAPPER BRAMPTON BRIAN, HEREFORDSHIRE TO BASINGSTOKE WITH '078' NUMERAL OF BRAMPTON BRIAN. Large part wrapper from Brampton Brian to 'George Lamb Esq., Basingstoke, Hants' with fine die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) lettered DF tied very fine strike of the very scarce '078' 3HOS numeral of Brampton Brian. On reverse 'BRAMPTON-BRIAN' date stamp AU 31 58, this being the first recorded date of use according to Parmenter. (Ref 131838).
