1855 VALENTINE LONDON TO NORWICH, HAND COLOURED WITH VERY ORNATE CONTENT. Wrapper from London to Norwich, some re-enforcement and one flap on reverse missing with good die 1 1d S.C.16 (SG17) lettered JK tied London '20' numeral and addressed to 'E. K. Harvey Esqre, Mousehold House, near Norwich'. Within is a very fine and ornate hand coloured printed valentine with a seated young woman at it's centre with the verse 'Love cannot bear neglects shrill blast, Scorn quickly pales it's wonted fires, It struggles - but it cannot last, It flickers, and soon expires.' 'Dearest, this hint is meant for you, Thy Bosom is my votive shrine, Preserve, then, dear, a flame so true, Glowing with firm affections hue, And fed by faithful love from thine'. Faults but unusual.
