Description
1793 MAIL LONDON TO ABERDEEN WITH 'G.P.O./WAPPING' RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP (L77c). Letter, some creasing, from London to 'Mr Jn. Ewen Aberdeen' dated Dec 31 1793 and charged '7' to Edinburgh and then '5' to Aberdeen. On reverse fine strike of the rare 'G.P.O./WAPPING' receiver's hand stamp in black (L77c), partly overstruck London date stamp JA 7 94. Some faults but a rare hand stamp. Letter is from opticians 'Spencer Browning and Rust' and is an invoice in respect of spectacles etc. (Ref 123695).
