Wace Esq, Solicitor, Ellesmere, Salop' with stamps paying the 2d rate with a very rare combination of 1d imperf (SG8) and 1d perforate (SG17). Stamps are 1d imperf plate 167 (SG8) lettered OF, four close to very large margins but filing fold affects and fine 1d perforate also plate 167 (SG16) lettered SL in state two of the plate and showing broken perf pins variety 2 state II. Stamps tied London '14' Inland Office numeral and light strike 'SHREWSBURY/708' spoon 11 MY 1854. Simpson and Louis only record 29 various combinations of this usage. (Ref 138411).
