1845 MAIL ETON, BERKS TO PORTSMOUTH WITH 'ETON' UDC AND WAFER SEAL. Wrapper from Eton to 'Mrs Peareth, Fairy Yacht R.Y.S., Post Office, Portsmouth' with 1d (SG8) lettered AC, just touched at upper right otherwise four close margins and tied '890' numeral of Windsor. Alongside fine strike 'ETON' udc in red. On reverse 'WINDSOR' date stamp JU 1 1845 and very fine wafer seal depicting a leaping cat inscribed 'LA JEUNESSE' (the youth). Unusual. (Ref 139566).
