1842 COVERS (2) FROM SOUTHPORT TO LONDON WITH 1D (SG8) BOTH CANCELLED DOUBLE STRIKE SOUTHPORT MALTESE CROSS. One entire letter dated March 5th 1842 and a wrapper dated March 10th 1842, both from Southport and both addressed to the 'Revd. Charles Hesketh, Woods Hotel, Furnivals Inn, London' both with 1d (SG8) with four to large margins and both tied by two very clear strikes of the Southport Maltese cross in black. On reverse 'SOUTHPORT' date stamps MR 5 and MR 10 1842 respectively. A fine pair of covers. (2 items). (Ref 139522).
