Fine letter from Ashbourne in Derbyshire dated Aug 21 1843 to 'John Cattlow Esq, Solr, Cheadle' with 1d (SG8) lettered TD, touched in two places and tied light strike Ashbourne Maltese cross. Alongside 'CHEADLE' date stamp AU 23 1843 and at upper left very fine strike which is believed unique of the Ashbourne 'TOO LATE' hand stamp in black (DY33). Ex Grimwood-Taylor collection.
