Busk and Jevons, Box 1888, New York' with 5s pale rose (SG126) x 3 lettered HA HB HC, some faults, also 4d vermilion pl.13 (SG94) x 2, 1s pale green (SG150) lettered BF, 2s blue (SG119) lettered FE and 3d rose pl.14 (SG143) lettered IA, all stamps tied slightly indistinct strikes '466' numerals of Liverpool. Also on front 'REGISTERED/LIVERPOOL' date stamp 15 AU 74, senders blue cachet and manuscript 'per Cunard Stmr.'. A remarkable commercial usage with the 5s very rare on cover. This cover along with at least 16 others was discovered in a vault in New York and Brauwers records 20 examples of this 5s issue on cover with nine from this correspondence. (Ref 138828).
