1840 LARGE PART WRAPPER HAWARDEN, FLINTSHIRE TO LIVERPOOL WITH 1D BLACK PL.6 (SG2) AND 'HAWARDEN' STRAIGHT LINE HAND STAMP (W1097). Large part wrapper, side flaps removed, from Hawarden, Flintshire to 'Messrs Pooley, Iron Founders, Liverpool' with 1d black pl.6 (SG2) lettered GJ, touched at lower right and filing crease affects, tied red Maltese cross. On front fine strike 'HAWARDEN' straight line hand stamp in red (W1097), County Catalogue only records usage in black. On reverse manuscript date 7th Sep 40.
