1857 1D PALE ROSE PLATE 53 SAVOY STREET PRINTING (SPEC C9A(1)(BL). A good used 1857 1d pale rose from the very rare plate 53, SAVOY STREET PRINTING (Spec C9A(1) lettered BL, several short perforations and surface rub, cancelled '701' numeral of Shepton Mallet, Somerset. RPS cert submitted by Tonna in 1973 before amendments in the SG Specialised Catalogue. Faults but priced accordingly and a rare opportunity to acquire a cheaper example from this very rare plate.
