1714 MAIL SPILSBY TO FERRYBRIDGE, YORKSHIRE CARRIED PRIVATELY 'BY THE BEARER MY CLERK'. Fine letter from Spilsby dated 14th March 1714 'ffor W. Atkinfon at his houfe in Knottingley near, fferrybrige, Yorkshire' and noted internally 'By the Bearer my Clerk' with additional note at foot 'please to pay the money to the Bearer...'. Fine and very scarce example of illegal private mail. (Ref 137120).
