1853 COVER EX SWITZERLAND TO ROYSTON AND 1859 MAIL USED IN LONDON WITH 'Highgate' RECEIVER AND 'HIGHGATE' UDC, BOTH IN BLUE. 1853 letter, some creasing, from Canton de Vaud in Switzerland dated July 22nd (1853) to 'Mifs Beldau, Royston, Cambridgeshire' carried privately to London and put into the mail with 1d (SG8) lettered EL, touched several places and tied fine strike London '7' Inland Office numeral. On reverse fine strike 'Highgate' straight line receivers hand stamp in blue (L514/HIGAT13b) part overstruck London date stamp JY 31 1853. Second envelope used in London with die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) lettered PB tied London 'N17' duplex MY 11 59 and on reverse fine strike 'HIGHGATE' udc in blue, 19mm.
