Good to fine used 1840 1d black pl.5 (SG2) lettered JD with four close to fine margins and cancelled red-brown Maltese cross. Matched with fine used 1d red (SG7) with fine four margins on entire from Leeds to 'R Walker Esqre, Mirfield', tied fine strike black Maltese cross. Wrapper with scissor cut and spike hole well clear of stamp and with fine printed contents 'REETH CONSOLIDATED MINING COMPANY'. On reverse 'LEEDS' date stamp JA 12 1842. (Ref 132965).
