1807 FREE MAIL BRIDGNORTH TO FARINGDON, BERKS, WOLVERHAMPTON DATE STAMP AND SHOWING ABUSE OF FREE FRANK. Letter written by a Mr Payne to 'Thos Mottingly Esq, Faringdon, Berks' and endorsed 'Bridgnorth November sixteen 1807' and signed at lower left 'Free T. Whitmore'. Although written by Mr Payne it has been franked by Whitmore and a clear abuse of franking privilege. On front 'WOLVERHAMPTON/133' circular dated mileage mark NOV 17 1807. Unusual. (Ref 131650).
