1828 MAIL LONDON TO CHUTE, WILTS MISSENT TO MARLBOROUGH. Fine printed 'Rates of Duties' payable on a deceased estate from London to 'Mr Mrs Smart, Chute, Wilts' charged '8' and on reverse London date stamp AU 5 1828. Evidently missorted and redirected to Marlborough and then Andover with good strike 'MARLBOROUGH/78' circular mileage mark in black (WL427) with manuscript adjacent and within 'Mifsent to'. Fine and unusual usage. (Ref 131188).
