1783 MAIL STAMFORD TO LINCOLN WITH 'STAMFORD' HAND STAMP (LI987). Letter Stamford to 'Mr Fardell, Proctor Lincoln' dated March 19 1783 and initially charged '2'. On reverse light strike 'STAMFORD' straight line hand stamp in black (LI987), this example being the latest known usage of this hand stamp and postal charge increased to '3' for local delivery.
