1845 1D PINK WRAPPER OAKHAM (RUTLAND) TO WHISSENDINE (RUTLAND) WITH LANGHAM UDC WITH MANUSCRIPT DATE WITHIN. Large part 1d pink wrapper, side flaps missing, from Langham (Rutland) to 'The Officiating Minister of Whissendine', slight soiling, cancelled fine strike of the very rare (Parmenter = G) '587' numeral of Oakham. Also on front good to fine strike 'LANGHAM' udc in red-orange (RU5) with manuscript date within 'July 18 1845' and alongside part strike OAKHAM date stamp in black. A rare usage with very few examples of manuscript dating of udc's recorded. Item illustrated page 118 of the latest Midland County Catalogue. (Ref 123474).
