1726 MAIL SHERBORNE, DORSET TO CREWKERNE WITH 'SHER/BORNE' TWO LINE HAND STAMP. Very fine letter Sherborne 'To A Pinney Esqr at Betscomb' with additional manuscript 'To be left at ye post house in Crewkerne' dated November 28th 1726, on reverse good strike of the very rare 'SHER/BORNE' two line hand stamp in black. VERY RARE EARLY USE OF A PROVINCIAL HAND STAMP. (Ref 110057).
