Hodding and Co, Solicitors, Salisbury, Wilts' with 1d (SG8) lettered JA, touched at upper right but tied very fine strike '516' barred numeral of Marlborough. On reverse MARLBOROUGH date stamp MY 30 1844 and SALISBURY date stamp MY 31 1844. This cover is the earliest known use of the '516' barred numeral of Marlborough. (Ref 128260).
