1840 2D BLUE PL.1 (SG5)(KL) ON COVER USED WITHIN WESTMORLAND. Fine wrapper from Kirby Lonsdale to 'Bank of Westmorland, Kendal' with good to fine 1840 2d blue pl.1 (SG5) lettered KL with four close but clear to fine margins and tied very fine strike black Maltese cross of Kirby Lonsdale. On reverse 'KIRBY LONSDALE' date stamp AP 22 1841 and 'KENDAL' date stamp AP23 1841. A rare provincial usage used within Westmorland. (Ref 139478).
