Fine entire from Thornton Heath in London to 'Mrs Sewell, Bank, Brighton', postage paid and on front very fine strike 'P 1' Uniform Penny Post hand stamp type E of Thornton Heath in red (listed as SY140 but falls under London). Hand stamp measurement in county catalogue in incorrect and should be 17 x 12 and not 17 x 15, this hand stamp unrecorded by Walker. On reverse very fine strike 'T.P/Thornton Hth' London receiver's hand stamp in black (L504) and 'CROYDON' date stamp in dark blue FE 25 1840. Fine and very scarce usage. (Ref 131457).
