1877 'O.U.S.' UNDERPRINT (SPEC PP154/PL.170(SG43)(QC) USED ON COVER OXFORD TO NORWICH. Envelope, roughly opened at top, from Oxford to Norwich with fine 1d pl.170 (SG43) lettered QC tied OXFORD/603 duplex AP 18 77. When viewed from reverse stamp clearly shows 'OUS' underprint. On reverse flap embossed uncoloured crest of the OXFORD UNION SOCIETY. Scarce on cover. (Ref 95737).
