Description
1889 MIXED FRANKING FROM MERTON, SURREY TO BRUSSELS. Envelope, some soiling and extraneous red ink, sent registered mail from Merton in Surrey to Brussels with unusual combination 2½d Jubilee (SG201), ½d slate blue (SG187), ½d pale green (SG165) and 1½d lilac (SG188) cancelled fine strikes 'MERTON' date stamp FE 5 89. On reverse 'BRUXELLES' date stamp 5 FEVR 1889. Very unusual combination and listed in Louis and Simpson item 7 page 191. (Ref 140126).
