1868 MAIL WITH 'A83' BRITISH MAILBOAT CANCELLATIONS TO STUTTGART IN GERMANY. Envelope, some imperfections addressed to Stuttgart, Germany with 4d pale vermilion pl.9 (SG94) and pair of 6d plate six (SG109) tied good strikes of the rare 'A83' mailboat cancellation used on packet ships in the Mediterranean. On front fine strikes oval 'PD' hand stamp in red and 'CALAIS' transit mark 5 JUIL 68. Tear at top well clear of stamps and some soiling mainly on reverse but a rare usage. (Ref 133807).
