1841 1D MULREADY WRAPPER 'OAKES, BEVAN AND COMPANY' MULREADY ADVERT (MA308a). Good to fine used 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo A76, from Stowmarket to 'The East of England Bank, Foulsham' (Norfolk) cancelled fine strike Stowmarket Maltese cross in black. On front light strike 'DEREHAM' date stamp in red AP 27 1841, on reverse 'STOWMARKET' date stamp AP 26 1841 in black. Within fine printed receipt '26th April 1841./Please to pay Messrs. Barclay and Co £75.0.0/on account of Oakes, Bevan and Co. Stowmarket Bank'. Slight toning and vertical folds affect but only eight examples of this advert recorded to date. (Ref 137869).
