1841 1D MULREADY WRAPPER 'OAKES, BEVAN AND COMPANY' MULREADY ADVERT (MA308a). Used 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo unknown, from Stowmarket to 'Mefsrs. Gurneys and Co., Bankers, Attleborough' cancelled fine strike Stowmarket Maltese cross in black, unfortunately stamp removed at upper right. On reverse 'STOWMARKET' date stamp JY 2 1841 with date slug '4' inverted and 'ATTLEBOROUGH' date stamp JY 3 1841. Within fine printed receipt '2nd July 1841./Please to pay Messrs. Barclay and Co. £41.13.0/on account of Oakes, Bevan and Co. Stowmarket Bank./Bond - £41.13.0'. Small fault where stamp removed and some soiling but only eight examples of this Mulready advert recorded to date. (Ref 137868).
