Newman and Lyon, Solrs, Yeovil' with good 1d red pl.2 (SG7) lettered QL, four very close but clear to fine margins, tied superb strike Bruton Maltese cross and alongside fine strike 'BRUTON' udc in black (SO305). Letter dated 17th Jan 1842. Stamp shows constant variety 'MARKS ABOVE NE SQUARE' (Spec AS17h). (Ref 133641).
