1840 MAIL LIGHTMOOR, SHROPS TO WORCESTER WITH 1D BLACK PL.6 (SG2)(MF) AND 'DAWLEY GREEN/PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (SH120). Letter, some creasing and rather soiled from the village of Lightmoor in Shropshire to 'Stephen Hughes, Grocer, Tything, Worcester' dated November 23rd 1840 with 1d black pl.6 (SG2) lettered MF, four very close but just clear to good margins and tied red-brown Maltese cross. On front 'SHIFFNAL' date stamp NO 25 1840 and alongside stamp light strike of the very scarce 'Dawley Green/Penny Post' hand stamp in red (SH120). (Ref 132899).
