1868 PIECE CHIRBURY, SHROPS TO SHREWSBURY WITH 1D (SG43) CANCELLED 'C07' 3HOS NUMERAL OF CHIRBURY, SIX YEARS EARLIER THAN PARMENTER RECORDS. Large piece from Chirbury in Shropshire to Shrewsbury with 1d (SG43) lettered OE, torn at left but tied fine strike of the scarce 'C07' 3HOS numeral of Chirbury. On reverse 'CHIRBURY' date stamp NO 68 and 'SHREWSBURY' date stamp NO 6 68. Parmenter records first usage 14th January 1874, this pre-dates by six years. (Ref 131703).
