1858 MAIL USED IN SHREWSBURY WITH 'SHREWSBURY/708' SPOON (RA118) AND 'BASCHURCH' UDC. Envelope used locally in Shrewsbury to 'Mr James G. Spence, Canal Wharf, Shrewsbury' with die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) lettered GL, fault at foot, tied very fine large part strike 'SHREWSBURY/708' spoon type 'C1' 22 FE 1858 codes 'D1'. Scarce spoon cancellation and on reverse fine to very fine strike of the very scarce 'BASCHURCH' udc in blue. (Ref 131564).
