MALTESE CROSS OF STIRLING TYPE 1 ON COVER/1D RED PL.5 (BI BJ)(SG7). 1841 entire Stirling to Glasgow with pair of 1d red pl.5 (SG7) lettered BI BJ, with very close but clear four margins tied two very fine strikes Stirling Maltese crosses type 1. On reverse STIRLING date stamp JY 24 1841. The type 1 was in use until late June 1843 when it was replaced by the 'Stirling Special'. (Ref 74034).
