Envelope, lower flap missing, sent registered mail from Fintry to 'Peter Beattie Esq, Inspector of Poor, Barony Parish, 14 College St, Glasgow' with die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) pl.60 x 7, paying 1d postage and 6d registration tied '159' numerals of Glasgow. At upper left manuscript 'Registered' and at lower right below stamps fine large part strike 'FINTRY FINTRY' Scots local hand stamp type IV in dark blue (Co. Stirling, Parent Post Office Glasgow). On reverse 'GLASGOW' date stamp FE 7 59. Rare and most unusual usage. (Ref 138393).
