1857-1858 'MILTON OF CAMPSIE' SCOTS LOCAL CANCELLATION TYPE III ON PIECE, ALSO ON 1858 ENVELOPE AS BACK STAMP. Piece, 39 x 32, with fine die 2 1d rose-red on white paper (SG40) lettered BL tied very fine strike 'MILTON OF CAMPSIE' type III Scots local cancellation in black. Also 1858 envelope Glasgow to 'John Marshall Esq, 22 Howe Street, Edinburgh' also with SG40 lettered OF, affixed with wax, one corner overlaps envelope and tied 'GLASGOW/159' duplex OC 12 58. On reverse of envelope fine strike 'MILTON OF CAMPSIE' type III Scots local hand stamp in black. A very rare 'matched pair' and the only example of this hand stamp we have seen in forty years.
