1844 MAIL HORBLING, LINCS TO OAKHAM WITH 'DONNINGTON LINCOLN/PENNY POST' HAND STAMP (LI255). Very fine printed wrapper from Horbling, Falkingham dated 15th July 1844 concerning the 'BLACK SLUICE TRUST' with fine printed list of proprietors who have signed or assented to the guarantee, addressed to 'Mefsrs Ades and Adams, Solrs. Oakham' with 1d (SG8) lettered CE, just touched at lower right and tied two good strikes '727' numeral of Spalding. On front good strike, filing fold affects 'Donnington Lincoln/Penny Post' hand stamp in black (LI255) and on reverse SPALDING date stamp JY 91 1844 with inverted and reversed date slugs '91' for '16'.
