Envelope from Salisbury to Scotland endorsed 'Free' (!), ignored by Postal Clerk as free franking disappeared in 1840 with manuscript charge '2', also on front 'SALISBURY' date stamp DE 10 57. Filing fold affects envelope. On reverse good strike 'WILTON RD' udc in red-brown, part overstruck London date stamp 11 DE 1857 and alongside 'ABERDEEN' date stamp DE 12 1857. (Ref 137307).
