1841 1D GREY-BLACK PLATE ELEVEN (SG3)(OA MAJOR RE-ENTRY SPEC AS72a) WITH RED MALTESE CROSS (SPEC AS72e CAT £25K). Good used 1841 1d grey-black from the rare plate eleven (SG3) lettered OA and showing MAJOR RE-ENTRY MARKS (Spec AS72a), cut into at left otherwise fine four margins and minor corner bend. Stamp cancelled with indistinct strike of RED MALTESE CROSS (Spec AS72e). Matched with good used 1d red (SG7) with four close but clear margins and cancelled black Maltese cross. Penny black plate eleven with a red Maltese cross is a very rare usage with few examples known. (2 items). (Ref 138305).
