1840 ORIGINAL SOUTHGATE CARICATURE NO.3 'PEG LEG SAILOR'. Good unused original example of the 1840 Southgate caricature No.3 in black on white wove paper showing scenes of joviality as a result of cheaper postage, with a very joyous Britannia and a peg leg sailor at lower right. Several tone spots, mainly on reverse. (Ref 137767).
