1843 DORCHESTER MALTESE CROSS ON ENVELOPE TO HARROW/'N.L' HAND STAMP OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN. Envelope Dorchester to 'G Harris Esq The Park Harrow Middlesex' with 1d (SG8) lettered BB, touched at upper left otherwise good margins and tied very fine strike Dorchester Maltese Cross. On front at lower left fine strike 'N.L' hand stamp in black of unknown origin, possibly to assist in postal sorting. On reverse DORCHESTER date stamp OC 29 1843 and London receivers OC 30 1843.
