Letter from 'Doctors' Commons', London dated 30th September 1841 to 'Gill Mounsey Esq, Registrar, Carlisle' with good used horizontal pair 2d blue pl.3 (SG14) lettered BG BH, BG very fine used, BH fine four margins but filing fold affects and tied fine strikes black Maltese cross. On front 'CARLISLE'  date stamp OC 1 1841, on reverse London date stamp SP 30 1841. Examples of the 1841 2d blue used on cover during the first year of issue are rare to very rare. (Ref 135917).
