1840 1D MULREADY 'A. CUDDY' MULTIPLE ADVERT (SPEC MA5d). A good used 1d Mulready wrapper, stereo A10 used within London addressed to 'James Harrod Esq. No 1 Hawley Terrace, Camden Town' cancelled very fine strike of the London black experimental Maltese Cross and back stamped NO 2 1840. Also on front light strike 'T.P/Roehampton' receiver's hand stamp in red. Fault from opening and overall toning but on reverse unusual cut-out of an advert for 'THE THAMES TUNNEL'. On reverse fine 'A. CUDDY' multiple advert (spec MA5d) offering 'British and Colonial Trust and Assurance Company', 'AROMATIC PUNGENT ESSENCE for Ladies who suffer from Nervous Head-Aches', cravats handkerchiefs and gloves, perfumes made from 'ROYAL EXTRACT OF FLOWERS, EXTRACT OF ROSES FOR WASHING THE HAIR, BALSAM OF ROSES and EMOLLIENT VEGETABLE SOAP', 'Crossthwaite's Occult Lozenges' for the cure of asthma, coughs and sore throats', plate glass including stained and ornamental window glass, 'Wet Nurse', 'Royal Gallery of Practical Science' offering 'Models of Machines, Bridges, Ships and Objects', 'OPENING OF THE PANCLIBANON' which offered a fine range of various iron goods including stoves and baths', 'HOWQUA'S MIXTURE OF FORTY RARE BLACK TEAS, and HOWQUA'S SMALL LEAF GUNPOWDER', Eglantine Essence, 'THOS.
