1796 MAIL USED IN LONDON WITH 'HOLBN/HILL - 1 -' RECEIVING HOUSE HAND STAMP LONDON PENNY POST (L418) AND 'UNPAID' HAND STAMP (L551). Letter, slight soiling but only on reverse and minor reinforcement of corner folds, from Clapham to 'Mr Packwoode, Norwoode' dated 22nd November 1796 with charge of '1' altered to '2'. On front good to fine strike of the rare large type 'HOLBN/HILL - 1 -' London receiving house hand stamp in black (L418) and two good to fine strikes of the very scarce 'UNPAID' straight line hand stamp in black (L551) only used at the Holborn and Mortlake receiving house offices.
