1781 'RJ' LONDON GENERAL POST RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP OF ROBERT JONES ON MAIL LONDON TO WISBECH. Fine letter from Gough Square, London 'To Mefsrs. Fawfsett and Bellamy, Wisbech, Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire' dated 30th June 1781 and charged '4'. On reverse fair strike 'RJ' circular hand stamp of the London General Post receiver Robert Jones and fine strike London Bishop mark '30/JV'. Robert Jones was the General Post receiver at Temple and is known to have used a number of circular hand stamps. (Ref 129471).
