1774 MAIL LONDON TO DONCASTER WITH 'F' LONDON GENERAL POST RECEIVER'S HAND STAMP OF WILLIAM FLEXNEY. Letter from Red Lion Square, London 'To Mefsrs Jackson and Harris, Bawtry near Doncaster' dated 11th Oct 1774 and charged '4'. On reverse fine strike circular 'F' hand stamp of the London General Post receiver William Flexney, over flap, and London Bishop mark '11/OC', filing fold well clear of both hand stamps. William Flexney, a bookseller was also a General Post receiver at 319 Holborn, who first used a circular hand stamp 'WF' and then from 1769-1786 this 'F' hand stamp, also a larger version in 1784 and 1785.
