1787 MAIL GLOUCESTER TO LONDON WITH 'GLOU/CESTER' HAND STAMP (GL358) AND LONDON EXPERIMENTAL DATE STAMP (L4d). Letter, small part missing and fault at top, from Gloucester to 'Edmund Chalmer Esq. No.5 Brick Court, Middle Temple, London' charged '5' and on front good strike 'GLOU/CESTER' two line hand stamp in black (GL358) used 3 years later than county catalogue records. On reverse good to fine strike of the rare 'APRIL/J/12' London experimental date stamp (L4d) used only April 1787. (Ref 128390).
