1794 MAIL USED IN LONDON WITH 'PENNY POFT/B/PAID' EXPERIMENTAL OVAL HAND STAMP (L412). Fine letter from Little Gros St to 'Mr Bleasdale, Hatton Court, Threadneedle Street, London' dated Nov 10 1794, on front manuscript 'Paid 1d' and good to fine strike of the very scarce London General Post oval experimental hand stamp 'Penny Poft/B/Paid' in purple (L412), address partly covers hand stamp. On reverse light strike '2 o'Clock/10.NO/94 AFN' date stamp in black (L404a). Hand stamp L412 only recorded 1794. (Ref 126766).
