1787 MAIL KILMARNOCK TO LONDON WITH SCARCE LONDON 'EXPERIMENTAL' CIRCULAR DATE STAMP TYPE L4c. Fine letter from Kilmarnock dated 24th March 1787 to 'Mr. William Scott, Barbinder Lane, London' initially charged '4', altered to '11'. On reverse good strike Edinburgh Bishop mark 'MR/25' in red and good strike of the scarce London 'experimental' circular date stamp type L4c 'MARCH/H/28'. The London hand stamp only in use March 1787. (Ref 125282).
