Very fine entire Birmingham to 'Mr Boyfield, Builder Stamford' with 1d (SG8) lettered EC, just touched upper right otherwise good margins and cancelled black Maltese Cross. On reverse BIRMINGHAM date stamp MY 3 1842. Within superb printed auction notice 'TO Cabinet Makers, Timber Merchants, Coach Builders, etc./IMPORTANT SALE OF MAHOGANY, ROSE AND ZEBRA WOOD, KNOTTED OAK, PENCIL CEDAR ETC'.... 'WILL BE SOLD BY AUCTION, ON THE PREMISES OF MESSRS. STONEY AND CLARKE, HIGH PAVEMENT, NOTTINGHAM, On MONDAY, the 9th of May, 1842 ...'.
