Fine letter from Bentham to 'Messrs H R and H A Gregg, Solrs, Kirkby Lonsdale' with good used 1d (SG8) lettered MH, just touched lower left otherwise good margins and tied fine strike '436' numeral of Lancaster. On reverse very fine strike 'BENTHAM' udc in red (YK283) and 'KIRKBY LONSDALE' date stamp JA 17 1845 in blue. (Ref 136309).
