Part wrapper from Hawkshead to 'Mr. James Smith, Cowen Bridg, near Kirby Lonsdal' with 1d (SG8) lettered LK, cut into and faults tied fine strike '13' numeral of Ambleside. On front fair strike 'Hawkshead/Penny Post' hand stamp in dark blue (LA492), AMBLESIDE date stamp AU 2 1844 and KIRBY LONSDALE date stamp AU 3 1844. (Ref 125370).
