Envelope sent registered mail from 'HEADQUARTERS, STATION COMPLEMENT, U.S. ASSAULT TRAINING CENTER, ETOUSA, A.P.O. 553, U.S. ARMY' to London with GB 1d pale scarlet (SG486), 2½d light ultramarine (SG489), 10d turquoise-blue (SG474), 1s bistre-brown (SG475) and 2/6 yellow-green (SG476b) small fault at top, stamps neatly tied very fine strikes 'NEW YORK, N.Y. U.S. Army Postal Service Br./A.P.O. 553'. A most unusual and rare usage. (Ref 140036).
